Tasting Notes
Shaky Bridge's 2013 Pioneer Series Pinot Noir is bold, dark, inky and opaque. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, plum, cocoa and vanilla. The palate is full of ripe, rich fruit integrated with smoky vanilla oak giving a long and complete finish.
Vinification
The de-stemmed and lightly crushed high quality grapes from 4 different blocks were cold soaked in stainless steel tanks for 7 days. Primary fermentation took place at warm temperatures and the wine was 'pumped over' several times a day giving it maximum colour and flavour extraction. Malolactic fermentation was in a mixture of old and new French Oak barrels for 10 months prior to bottling.
Best Enjoyed With
This is a great wine to come home to, enjoyed on it's own or serve with veal, pork, venison or rich fish.
