Shaky Bridge Pinot Noir 2012
Shaky Bridge's premium Pinot Noir. A deep purple colour invites you to enjoy the dark, spicy aromatics, followed by a rich and full palate of dark pure fruit framed by grippy tannins. Shaky Bridge have cellared this vintage for you so that you can enjoy a great mature Central Otago Pinot Noir now.
The deep purple colour leads into layers of dark fruits with a herbal edge and hints of anise. Creamy oak and smoky notes provide a rich backdrop to the primary characters of pure dark fruit and grippy tannins. Shaky Bridge have cellared this wine for 12 months to allow it to mature into what is a fully integrated and premium Pinot Noir. Decanting prior to drinking is recommended.
Low yields of very high quality Pinot Noir grapes were hand harvested during the last week of April 2012.
De-stemmed, the berries were lightly crushed, the juice and skins were allowed to cold soak for 10 days prior to primary fermentation, which was done at warm temperatures while hand plunging the cap and pumping the wine over several times a day. The wine was then racked into oak barrels for maturation and malolactic.
The wine matured in oak for 16 months prior to light filtering and bottling. Cellared in the Shaky Bridge cellar for 12 months to fully mature and integrated.
