Vinetalk — New Zealand Wineries
When it comes to wine growing regions of New Zealand, they don’t come much bigger than Marlborough. Renowned throughout the world for producing world-class Sauvignon Blanc, there is much more the Marlborough region than the zesty and aromatic white wine.
When many people think of New Zealand, they think of warm sunny summers and relatively mild winters, however this is definitely not the case down in the South Island and in the case of McArthur Ridge and Shaky Bridge, two of the world’s southernmost vineyards, this means extremely changeable weather conditions which need to be constantly monitored in order to keep the vines healthy and ready to produce the award-winning wine each year.
We’re very proud of the wine produced by our fantastic wine growers and winemakers here at New Zealand Wine Co-Op but just what is it that makes New Zealand wine so special? Wines out of New Zealand have been taking the world by storm for quite some time now, winning countless awards worldwide and leaving some of the more established wine producing countries asking ‘where did these guys come from?
